The Erickson family of Montgomery are grieving the death of their 12-year-old daughter who was killed in an accident involving an ATV during a family vacation over the Independence Day holiday weekend.

Anya and John Erickson reportedly took their family to visit relatives in downstate Nokomis, Ill. near Springfield over the weekend.  On the evening of July 4, their daughter Isabella crashed the ATV she was driving into a tree. According to published reports, the vehicle reportedly flipped over and Isabella died from her injuries.

John was a passenger in the ATV and he is reported to still be in a local Springfield hospital with broken ribs, a concussion and other internal injuries.

Isabella was a student at Plank Junior High School in Oswego.

An online fundraiser page has been set up to help the family pay for not only Isabella’s funeral expenses but for John’s medical expenses. To help or for more information, visit http://www.gofundme.com/isabellae.
