The Oswego Panthers saw their postseason hopes dashed with a loss in the Class 8A quarterfinals Saturday night.

Marist got out to a big 38-7 lead at halftime, but the Oswego defense kicked into high gear in the second half, shutting down the Redhawks. The Panthers offense went to work to post 28 unanswered points.

But, Oswego’s dramatic comeback fell short as Marist made a key interception with less than a minute to go in the game, giving the Redhawks a 38-35 win.  

Oswego ends its impressive season with a 9-3 record.
