Yorkville going all day and night for St. Patrick’s Day

The annual St. Patrick’s Day 5K run begins at 9 a.m. in downtown Yorkville. There will be a $50 gift awarded to the best dressed contestant in the spirit of the day.

The residents of Yorkville know how to celebrate the annual day for wearin’ of the green.

The annual St. Patrick Day festivities are family friendly and will go all day and all night, Saturday, March 17 beginning with an early morning run and ending with live Irish music going to midnight.

The annual 5K run for all ages will begin at 9 a.m. at Southbank Original BBQ

That will be followed but the parade starting at 11 a.m. on the east end of Hydraulic Avenue near the Yak Shak and will continue down Hydraulic Avenue going west ending at Route 47.

All proceeds from the 5K and festival sponsors will benefit the nonprofit CASA Kendall County.

8 a.m.-11 a.m. —Love music with The Gleeson Irish Trio at South Bank Original BBQ, 129 E. Hydraulic Ave.

9 a.m.  —5K Run,  South Bank Original BBQ and the Law Office

11 a.m. .— St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade line up will be in the Yak Shack Parking Lot, 301 E. Hydraulic Ave. If your business would like to participate in the parade, call the Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department at (630) 553-4357 .

11:30 a.m. —Live Music at South Bank Original BBQ and the Law Office

Kids Activities at Southbank Original BBQ

Kids activities include hunting for Leprechaun’s Gold and face painting

Noon-3 p.m. —Live performance by Stephen Bores at Casa Santiago

1-2 p.m. —  Irish Dance Lessons at Downtown Your Performing Arts Center

Noon-Midnight: Live Music Throughout Downtown Yorkville at The Law Office, Rowdy’s and Southbank BBQ
