Kendall family festival to raise funds for Special Olympics

Yorkville American Legion Post 489 will be the location of the Family Fun Festival Fundraiser for the Kendall County Comets Special Olympics July 18.

The KCSO Family and Friends for the athletes of Kendall County Comets Special Olympics will hold the annual Family Fun Festival Fundraiser Saturday, July 18 at the Yorkville American Legion at 9054 E. Veterans Parkway in Yorkville.

A 5K run and 1K walk will begin at 8 a.m. There is a $20 entry fee and sign up begins at 7 a.m.  Those who want to participate in the biker fun run can sign up at 9 a.m. There is a $20 entry fee and the first vehicle out will be at 10 a.m.

Classic car registration will begin at 11 a.m. That also has a $20 entry fee.

From 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., there will be a car show, games, demos and face painting. From 2:30 to 6 p.m., there will be a DJ, magician, silent auction, raffles and prizes for the biker fun run and car show.

A pig roast dinner will be served from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person, $25 for a family up to four and $35 for a family up to six.
