Three arrested in Waukegan armed robbery

Waukegan police have concluded an armed robbery and shooting investigation with three arrests. Milton Chalmers, 22, of the 500 block of Archer Avenue in Waukegan, William Neely, 18, of the 500 block of Archer Avenue in Waukegan, and a juvenile have been taken into custody.

Chalmers has been charged with: Armed Robbery to a person on December 18, 2015; Armed Robbery of the Mobile Gas Station on January 18, 2016; Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery with a firearm of a 56-year-old male victim in the 500 block of Archer Avenue on January 22, 2016; and Unlawful Use of a Weapon on January 26, 2016. Chalmers was armed with a handgun at the time of his arrest.

Neely and the juvenile were also charged – along with Chalmers – with the Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery with a firearm of the 56-year-old man.

The juvenile was charged with firing a gun on December 4, 2015 in the area of Bluff Court and St. James Avenue in Waukegan.

Chalmers and Neely are both being held in Lake County Jail. Chalmers has a $1,500,000 bond and Neely has a $500,000 bond.

The juvenile was transported to the Lake County Illinois Juvenile Detention Center (Hulse) in Vernon Hills, Illinois.
