The body and vehicle of Jamie Harroun, a Mackinaw woman who had been missing since Halloween, was found by a hunter Nov. 12 in western Peoria County off of a well-known county road, Smithville.

Following an autopsy Sunday, Nov. 13 Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll determined Harroun died of multiple blunt force trauma caused by a crash.

Harroun’s truck veered from the road, crossing a field before striking an embankment at the foot of a hill. Ingersoll could not confirm the cause of the accident, or if Harroun was wearing a seatbelt. A toxicology report is pending.

Harroun, 40, was last seen by an acquaintance in Galesburg on the 500 block of Henderson St. at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 31, before leaving to return home. Harroun had spent the weekend there visiting her mother, Sharon Miller, who said her daughter did not have plans to travel anywhere for Halloween, aside from her home

Harroun lived in Mackinaw with her boyfriend of eight years, Brian Waldon,

Harroun was driving a black 2000 Ford F150 extended cab truck when she disappeared.
