MORTON – Skilled disc golfers from across the state of Illinois will be competing in Morton at the finale of the 2012 Ledgestone Insurance Championships this Friday and Saturday, September 14 and 15. This is the biggest disc golf tournament in Illinois.

The 2012 Ledgestone Insurance Championships are comprised of 11 sanctioned disc golf tournaments across the state of Illinois. This tournament will be the finale of the series, culminating a 20 tournament series that stretched across the state of Illinois making stops in Pontiac, Springfield, Rockford, Bloomington, Morton, Eureka, Kewanee, Washington, Pekin and Peoria.
This tournament will take place in three different locations over the weekend: in Peoria at Bradley Park, in Pekin at McNaughton Park, and in Morton at Northwood Park. The finale will be held at Northwood Park in Morton at approximately 2:30 PM on Saturday. The public is welcome to attend.
The tournament will crown 14 different division champions spanning different skill levels and ages. The winner of the series will be awarded $450 cash and second place will receive $200. The winner of the advanced division will be awarded $300 in merchandise money. The winner of the intermediate division will be awarded $150 in merchandise money, which may be spent at any of the supporting vendors.
Check-in and a putting competition will be held between 4-8 PM on Thursday, September 13 at the Ledgestone Insurance office in Washington.
