EUREKA – In recent years everything vintage has become desirable. Sewing trends are no exception, and sewers have been giving a second look at styles of the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Printed patterns from those years were much more difficult to understand and follow. At the June 21st meeting of the Woodford County Sewing Guild, Michelle Cecil will talk about vintage patterns and how to use them. The meeting will take place at 7:00 PM in the Farm Bureau Building Auditorium, 117 W. Center in Eureka. The meeting is free and open to everyone.

Mrs. Cecil is an experienced seamstress who actually enjoys using old patterns to make her own clothes. She has been actively involved in making costumes for dramas throughout our area including the Shakespeare Festival in Bloomington, Illinois Central College and for reenactors.
The Woodford County Sewing Guild is a Neighborhood Group of the Peoria Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. It is open to everyone who likes to work with needles, hooks, thread or yarn. Each meeting is filled with good conversation, tips and techniques, and much laughter. Held on the third Thursday of the month, all meetings are free and open to the public.
The July 19th meeting will feature a demonstration by Susie Lindsey on dyeing fabric with shaving cream.
