Summer Readers Ready for Food Fun at the Library

EUREKA – Readers at the Eureka Public Library will kick-off a summer of food fun as the Summer Reading Program begins with the theme “Reading is SO Delicious!”

Make-it Take-it starts the week on Monday, June 4. Crafters can go to the library anytime between 1:30 and 4:30 P.M. to make a Popsicle® bookmark.
Marj Bachman will be the guest reader for Story Time on Tuesday, June 5. Participants ages 3 through kindergarten will gather at 10 A.M. for stories and a craft.
The first meeting of the Munch-A-Lunch Picnic Bunch will be Wednesday, June 6, at the library. Readers who have completed grades 1 through 6 should take lunch, drink and something to sit on to the library at 11:30 A.M. Terri Kuebler from Eureka High School will be back for Munch-a-Lunch again this year, with more tasty food fun for everyone.
Feature presentation for Movie & Popcorn on Thursday, June 6, will be the movie “Yogi Bear.” The movie begins at 1 P.M. with a running time of 1 hour and 20 minutes. Movie-goers can take a drink and popcorn will be provided.
All readers can return their Week 1 book logs during this first activity week to receive a coupon from Uncle Bob’s Ice Cream in Eureka and other prizes.
Readers can check out the display of books about picnics, camping, hiking, etc., and also a display with a variety of activity books for summer fun. Readers can also enter contests at the library as well as pick up coloring sheets, puzzles and word games.
