Aurora police are seeking two suspects after a Far East side convenience store was robbed and employee and patron beaten on Friday, Feb. 12.

On Wednesday, police released surveillance video from cameras at the store, located on the 2200 block of South Eola Road in the Will County section of the city.

According to a  police statement, the robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven store around 11:35 p.m. last Friday.

Suspects entered with parts of their faces covered and approached a 45-year-old man who was working at the store. One of the suspects produced a handgun, demanded money and then battered the clerk.

They continued to beat the employee as they escorted him to a rear office while demanding money.

The suspects then fled the store after grabbing cash and cigarettes worth an undisclosed amount of money.

While departing, the suspects struck a 20-year-old Aurora man who had entered the store. One of the robbers hit the man in an ear but he was not seriously hurt and did not require medical treatment.

The employee was treated and released from an Aurora hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects were both described as African-American males standing 5-foot 9-inches to 6-feet tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. Both wore dark clothing.
