Aurora

Fireworks – Friday, July 3, 6 to 10 p.m. with free family activities. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed from both McCullough and RiverEdge Parks and along the banks of the river.

Parade – ?Saturday, July 4, 2015, 10 a.m. to Noon. The parade route will be east on Benton Street, north on Broadway, west on Galena Boulevard, south on Stolp Avenue, west on Downer Place and ending at River Street. Reviewing Stand will be in front of the Paramount Theatre at 23 E. Galena Blvd.

Ringing of the Bells – Saturday, July 4, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ?Open house, old-fashioned picnic and national Ringing of the Bells (at 1 p.m.) on the grounds of the 1857 Tanner House Museum, 305 Cedar St. Music, magic, games, and food for purchase. ?Self-guided tours of the house.

 

Channahon

Park District Celebration – Saturday, July 4 begins at 5:30 p.m. A petting zoo, inflatables (a bouncy house), a dunk tank and more will be on hand for younger children.

One mile Family Freedom Fun Run Walk begins at 6 p.m. ?The bike parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and red, white and blue popsicles will be given away. ?Dodgeball will be at 7 p.m. Fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m. ?Concessions will be available.

 

Naperville

Fireworks – Saturday, July 4, at 9:30 p.m. at Knoch Park, 724 S. West St. The Ribfest/Fourth of July fireworks show runs for almost 30 minutes straight. Tune into CBS Radio K-HITS 104.3 FM to hear a musical simulcast during the fireworks show. The park may close at or around the free entry period due to capacity.

 

Oswego

Fireworks – Friday, July 3, at 9:30 p.m. at Prairie Point Park, 313 East Washington St. Visitors can view from Prairie Point Park or PraireFest Park and make sure to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks.

 

Plainfield

Picnic and fireworks – Friday, July 3, 6 to 9 p.m. at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Dr. ?Free evening for family activities, including bike parade, big trike races, play zone, face painting, Touch-a-Truck and music provided by a DJ. ?Retiring of the colors led by the American Legion followed by the fireworks. No admission.

 

Sandwich

Parade – ?Saturday, July 4, at 10 a.m. ?Parade entries will gather at the Sandwich Fairgrounds.

Freedom Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run – ?Sunday, July 5, at 8 a.m. ?Participants may register day of the race. ?Lineup will take place at Knights Park.

Fireworks – Sunday, July 5, at 6 p.m. at the Sandwich Fairgrounds with gates opening at 6 p.m. ?and fireworks beginning off around 9:20 p.m. A $5 donation per car is suggested. For more information, call (815) 786-8044.

 

Yorkville

Parade – Saturday, July 4 at 9 a.m. ?The parade route will be changing this year due to the Game Farm Road construction. The parade will start on Church Street and ending on West Street, finishing at the Yorkville Freshman Academy parking lot. ?Games and live music will follow in Town Square until 1 p.m.

Fireworks – Saturday, July 4 at dusk, ?will begin at dusk at Route 47 and Countryside Parkway.
