EUREKA – The City of Eureka recently partnered with Freshpark Industries, LLC to have two quarter pipes and a grind bench constructed for use at Eureka Lake Park which is open from sunrise until 11 p.m. each day.  The ramps can be found just inside the entrance to the Lower Lake Park at Eureka Lake, 203 Lake Road in Eureka.

Mayor Scott Punke and Park Chairman Milt Hinnen worked closely with Council to ensure that this project moved forward. “The City was looking for a way to expand activities and use of Eureka Lake Park while utilizing the remaining skate park fundraiser money” said Mayor Punke. “We were very fortunate to collaborate with Freshpark to have some unique pieces created specifically for Eureka Lake Park.”

Freshpark Industries, located in Huntington Beach, CA, is the brainchild of founder Roger Hickey. Hickey, an IOC Olympic Gold Medalist, began his career as a professional skateboarder before branching out into patenting and manufacturing action sports ramps and accessories.
