There is no recycling event for Kane County residents in St. Charles on Saturday, March 12.

The paper copy of the 2015-2016 Kane County Recycles Green Guide is nearly a year old, and things change.

The county suggests residents check the website for the most up-to-date information, www.countyofkane.org/recycling. The program is for Kane County residents only.

Disregard the March event date for shredding confidential documents that is printed in the old guide. The new 2016-17 guide will be out in mid-April.

The next Kane County Recycles Event, the first one of the year, will be held on Saturday, April 9, between 8 a.m. and noon, at 540 S. Randall Road, in St. Charles.

At the April 9 event, residents can recycle electronics, books, liquid latex paint (for a fee), and the county will be offering confidential document shredding. A complete list of accepted items, and more information can be found at http://www.countyofkane.org/Recycling/pages/electronics/electronicsBooks.aspx.

This event is expected to have increased traffic and much longer lines!

Residents can direct their questions to Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland at (630-208-3841, or at recycle@countyofkane.org.
