St. Charles’ Scarecrow Fest is finalizing plans to celebrate 30 years this month and organizers are seeking volunteers to help staff events and attractions.

Scarecrow Fest runs Oct. 9-11 in downtown St. Charles.

Scarecrow Fest has become a tradition with many, from locals to visitors from around the country. Families have used the nationally recognized festival as a meeting place for family get-togethers and can remember their favorite scarecrows from over the years.

New this year is Soda Pop Tour, a national touring soda tasting festival that features more than 100 vintage and craft beverages.

“To celebrate the 30th year we wanted to incorporate a new event into the Fest, so when we heard about the Soda Pop Tour, it was a great fit,” said DeAnn Wagner, associate director for the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau.

There is still time to become a volunteer at Scarecrow Festival 2015. Volunteers can work as a soda jerk or general store helper at the Soda Pop Tour or information seekers who will be talking to the general public about their Scarecrow Fest experience.

Volunteers can sign up on the website at sodapoptour.us/volunteers-stcharles.html or by contacting info@jmfevents.com.

Scarecrow Festival is a community festival that is produced and organized by the Greater St. Charles Conventions & Visitors Bureau.
