Possible attempted child luring in Crystal Lake

carOn July 12 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a man pulled his truck up to a nine-year-old boy on his bicycle in his driveway.  He allegedly said “you look real good” to the child.

The child’s father, an off-duty police officer, exited his garage, and the man in the truck immediately fled the area.

According to a press release, the father attempted but was unable to locate the vehicle.

The man in the truck is described as being a caucasion male in his forties, very tan, and wearing a dark colored tank top.

The vehicle is described as a Ford Ranger or Chevy S-10 type small pickup truck, faded red in color, with a push lawn mower in the bed.

The incident took place on Shadowood Drive near Edgewood Road in Crystal Lake.
