COD to host second career fair Feb. 8

College of DuPage will host its second annual Career Fair, sponsored by the Chicago Tribune, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 2000, on the College’s main campus in Glen Ellyn.

This event is free and open to the public.

The fair is designed to provide information and networking opportunities for job seekers who are unemployed or underemployed, looking to change careers, or recent graduates who are not yet employed in their chosen field. During the fair, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with recruiters from more than 45 local employers and discuss job opportunities.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about educational opportunities offered by College of DuPage that can provide them with an edge in a competitive job market.

Free workshops are scheduled the week prior to the event to prepare attendees to get the most from the fair. Additional free sessions will cover skills and strategies for a successful job search, including such topics as resume preparation, properly filling out applications, interviewing techniques, and networking.

Participating employers represent a broad range of disciplines and industries, including Computer Systems Institute; the DuPage County Government; Dynomax, Inc.; Harrah’s Joliet Casino and Hotel; Lifetime Fitness; Magnetrol International Inc.; Peacock Engineering Company; State Farm Insurance and many more. All participating employers have open positions they are seeking to fill.
