Cook forest preserves remember ‘Juneteenth’ day of freedom

Sand Ridge Nature Center in South Holland will be the site for the Cook County Forest Preserve’s annual “Juneteenth” Celebration June 18.
The event celebrates freedom, family and country with a program on the Underground Railroad program and history displays, including interactive interpretive hikes, traditional music, wild edibles display, period recipe samples, crafts and more.
Admission is free.
