Bacon-flavored chocolate chip cookies? Um, okay.

Shaved ice with bacon flavoring? Surely an acquired taste.

All things bacon (plus some wine to wash it all down) helped wrap up last week’s week-long Kishwaukee Festival, with the grand pork and cork finale held at DeKalb’s Van Buer Plaza.

Boy Scout Troop 33 had all the bacon-bases covered with a variety of offerings from burgers to bacon-wrapped pineapple to a bacon soup.

Saturday’s event also included vendors offering a variety of wines — including specials bottles for those hard-to-please White Sox and Cubs fans.

And the plaza was also a great spot for Chevy Corvette lovers, who had a chance to check out vintage vehicles in a concurrent show.
