DVD Screening: “Blindsight”

Set against the backdrop of the Himalayas, “Blindsight” follows the adventure of six Tibetan teenagers who set out to climb the 23,000-foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of Mount Everest. The dangerous journey soon becomes a seemingly impossible challenge — made all the more remarkable by the fact that the teenagers are blind. In his presentation, Howieson will a glimpse into the treasures preserved by the DeKalb Firefighters Historical Foundation. Local Lore is an adult lecture series. Want to get rid of those unused books? The Sycamore Library accepts larger donations of new and used books and other materials at the Circulation Desk on the third Saturday of each month. Additionally, books in need of recycling may be dropped off. If you need to make a drop at a different time, please contact us. Items donated may be added to the library’s annual book sale, where proceeds go to support youth and teen programming at the library. Donations may be tax-deductible. Receipts may be obtained at the Circulation Desk. All donations become the property of the library.

Fall Craft and Vendor Fair
