Kids’ kite building, a family fun fly, candy drop and stunts and tricks by professional flyers will keep your eyes on the skies, during Kite Fest, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave., Elmhurst.

Aug. 9

August Summer Concert

Flat Cats will perform a range of vintage and modern music rooted in swinging jazz, blues and American standards. Food will be available for purchase at the VFW Post 2801 concession stand starting at 6 p.m.

Family Roller Night

$5, $4 for Elmhurst Heritage Foundation members, $4 skate rental

Naperville Municipal Band Concert

The Museum’s newest exhibit, DuPage Architects, opens, showing the county’s rich architectural history. Explore the talent and skill of individuals behind the designs in the exhibit.

The church will hold a worship service at 9 a.m., and the anniversary concert will be held at 1 p.m. featuring Grammy Award nominee, Todd Dulaney.

“How Do I Get My Customer to Say Yes?”

Jazz in the Park

The Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble, a 16-member group, will perform a mix of popular big band tunes. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
