A 19-year-old Chicago man has been charged with stabbing a teenage girl multiple times and sexually assaulting her.

Isaiha Nevitt, a resident of the 12400 block of South Perry Avenue, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery. He was due to appear July 6 in Cook County’s Central Bond Court at 26th Street and California Avenue. Results of that bond hearing were unavailable as of press time.

Police said Nevitt was arrested at 5:44 p.m. July 3 on the 700 block of East 111th Street. He was charged in connection with an incident that occurred at 1:11 p.m. June 23 in the 10800 block of South Bishop.

Nevitt allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old girl multiple times in the head, neck and arms and sexually assaulted her. Police said the victim was able to escape the attack and contact officers.
