Tree of Life Unitarian congregation gives to new PADS shelter

The Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation 5603 Bull Valley Road in McHenry presented $1,622 designated for the new PADS permanent homeless shelter project to Pioneer Center for Human Services.  The money was raised from the congregation’s annual Live and Silent Auction.

Ten percent of the total proceeds of the auction were designated to the project. The congregation has a deep connection and continuing involvement with PADS since it became one of the original church sites for the rotating shelter back when it was known as the Congregational Unitarian Church and was located in Woodstock. Sam Tenuto, Co-Chief Executive Officer Pioneer Center which administers PADS received the symbolic big check from Auction Co-Chair and Office Administrator Judy Stettner (left), and Sue Kazlusky (right) Auction Co-Chair.
