It’s been 20 years since the “Walldogs” a group of sign painters and artists descended on Belvidere to create a series of murals and vintage-style advertising signs in and around downtown.

The works have held up and have been added to over the years, helping draw visitors to the “City of Murals”. The latest were unveiled this summer saluting Belvidere natives Fred Schultz, a onetime member of the Washington Senator who played in the 1933 World Series, and Jeanne Gang, a world-renowned and architect.
