Fall Prevention Workshop at Eureka Public Library

EUREKA – Recognizing the risk factors and knowing how to prevent falls for older adults will be part of the information covered in a workshop to be held at Eureka Public Library on Tuesday, May 29 at 1 P.M. The presentation has been developed by Katie Boisseau, an exercise science graduate of Valparaiso University as part of senior research project.

The presentation contains information about risk factors and consequences of falls in older adults, provides guidelines for precautions individuals can take, and will also include a demonstration of several exercises designed specifically to help prevent falls. Those attending can also take advantage of the opportunity take part in “Timed Up and Go”, a clinical test that measures an individual’s fall risk score. Please call the Eureka Public Library at 467-2922 to register for the workshop.
