Old-fashioned fun at the County Fair

The Kane County Fair settled in last week for its annual four-day run and featured the usual assortment of animals, 4-H competitions, carnival rides and contests and, of course, jumbo-sized food. County Fairs are a throwback to the days when agriculture played a greater economic role. But fairs have adapted over the years to modern times while maintaining a rural charm.
