EAST PEORIA – The nominations for the 2014 Diversity Award are open and will be accepted through midnight, March 15. The Intercultural Diversity Committee gives the award to recognize employees who have made exceptional effort to advance diversity at Illinois Central college (ICC). 

Any ICC student, faculty or staff may nominate a faculty or staff member. Those who have received the award in years past will not be eligible to receive another one. 

Criteria for the faculty award include the person’s ability to incorporate diverse values in the classroom, make the classroom accessible for and supportive of diverse learning styles, uses innovative teaching methods to support students with special learning needs, and/or mentors underrepresented students.

Criteria for the staff award are incorporating diverse values into their position, displaying a commitment to diverse cultures, religions and abilities, contributing to the cross-cultural environment of the college and mentoring underrepresented students.
