Summer camp programs available for all ages

The Fox Valley Park District offers more than 70 summer camps for children and teens. Epic Adventure Camps, will be held at Bioblitz at Red Oak Nature Center, Pioneer Experience at Blackberry Farm, Sports Mania at Vaughan Athletic Center and Camp Atlantis at Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center. Summer Blast Camp will be held at Eola Community Center, Prisco Community Center and Vaughan Athletic Center. Kendall Co U of I Extension
The University of Illinois Extension Office for Kendall, Kane and DuPage counties has two summer camps. Children will explore science and technology programs and get out into nature at the 100-plus acre Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, in Manteno. Each day will incorporate science curriculum, as well as archery, swimming and hiking. The Environmental Science campers can test water quality and study streams and get to know the native plants and birds of the area. At the Science & Technology Camp campers will use Legos and explore nature using GPS technology. Space is limited. Kendall Co. Forest District
Kendall County Forest Preserve District will be holding its “Walk in the Wild” summer camp program. The summer camps include a mix of outdoor experiences, hikes, games, hands-on learning, and other opportunities. All camps meet at the Eagle’s Nest Shelter at Hoover Forest Preserve, 11285 Fox Road, Yorkville. Registration and payment is required two weeks prior to the camps opening. Minooka
Children living in Minooka between the ages of 5 to 12 can attend the village Summer Camp held at Lions Park on McEvilly Road. Camp will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 16 to July 31, Cost is $150 per child. Oswegoland Park District
The Oswegoland Park District is joining with the Oswego Community School District 308 in offering an all-day recreational summer camp program from 6:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Children can attend any number of days, allowing flexibility to plan summer vacations.
Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and all activities are included in the daily fee of $47. Summer Camp Connection is located at Churchill, Southbury, and The Wheatlands elementary schools. Parents can choose the location closest to home or work. Junior Camp Connection for 4-6 year olds is located at South Point. Camp Connection participants entering sixth grade have the option to attend Road Warriors Teen Trips at a small additional fee on days they are registered to attend Camp. Plainfield Park District
Plainfield Park District will be holding its summer camp at the Boy Scout Park Pavilion, 23729 W. Ottawa St., next to the Recreation/Administration Center. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Extended hours are available for an additional fee. Registration deadline is 2 weeks prior to the start of a session. A Meet the Counselor Night will be held at the park at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27. In addition, the Lily Cache Special Recreation Association (LCSRA) provides inclusion services for individuals who wish to participate in general recreation programs. For more information, visit
