Lisa Maynard of the Illinois Neurological Institute teaches a young rider why it is important to protect her brain by wearing a bicycle helmet at the annual 4H Bicycle Rodeo at Davenport Elementary School on June 19. Children were checked for proper helmet fitting, and those in need of new helmets were given them free of charge, through the ThinkFirst program.

The Children’s Hospital of Illinois, American Red Cross, Illinois Neurological Institute and the University of Illinois Extension put this event on each year through the Woodford County 4H.
