Chicago, suburbs ready to celebrate the Irish
Photos by Kevin Beese/For Chronicle Media — March 8, 2017From dogs in derbies to second-floor apartment dwellers providing a lengthy hose for passers by to do free beer bongs, Forest Park threw one heck of a party last weekend.
The near west suburb kicked off the area’s two-week celebration of everything Irish with its St. Patrick Day Parade down Madison Street on Saturday.
This coming weekend will mark Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day activities with the dyeing of the Chicago River at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by a parade at noon, starting at Balbo Avenue and Columbus Drive.
On Sunday, the South Side Irish Parade steps off at noon from 103rd Street and Western Avenue.
