In a frenzied world, a quiet corner of DuPage
Chronicle Media Staff — May 31, 2017Near the busy intersection of Ogden Ave and York Road in Oak Brook there’s a quiet corner of DuPage County where the past is preserved and nature rules. Fullersburg Woods (and specifically the area around the 19th Century Graue Mill) last week attracted parents, children and pets strolling down paths, a couple of anglers casting for fish around the base of a Salt Creek waterfall and even a young goslings and, presumably, the parents, wandering the grounds. Graue Mill and Museum, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is open Tuesday – Sunday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The rest of the property is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Graue Mill will host an annual Fine Arts Festival this Saturday and Sunday. (Photos by Jack McCarthy / Chronicle Media)
