The Life of Riley: The Wisdom on Facebook

By Jerry Riley

Yes, some really intelligent people use Facebook. I should know, I’m one of them! A recent post that has been making the rounds is that you always have a second chance; it’s called tomorrow.

Thinking about that (as only I can, or maybe, will) we should learn from yesterday, today is a present and no one knows what tomorrow will bring. Only astrologers, stock brokers and weathermen can be wrong half the time and not lose their jobs! Always remember yesterday; learn, not only from mistakes, but also from success. Don’t dwell on it. You can learn from it, but it is history and you can’t change it! So accept what has happened.
Facebook is a modern version of a soapbox in Speakers’ Corner in London’s Hyde Park. It gives people someplace to share their ideas or thoughts. People post pictures from the past, which spark a memory in someone else, who may make a comment or post a picture from their past.
Jeff Foxworthy used to say if he could look in a redneck’s closet he could tell you their life story. Some people do the same thing on Facebook, and sometimes it seems like it is just too much information.
NEVER post anything you don’t want everyone to see! In this cyber world, you always have to be concerned with who can see, and what they might do with, your information and, what a revoltin’ development this is!
