June 1

Young Naperville Singers Auditions

5 p.m.

Community Concert Center, 104 E. Benton Ave., Naperville

Young Naperville Singers is looking for new singers for the fall semester.

Successful candidates need to have vocal training and choral experience. Singers are students from elementary school up to senior year of high school, all voice types. Rehearsals are held weekly. Schedule an audition by calling (630) 369-9679.

French Market

Vendors change weekly, so the market is different each time. Items for sale include cheeses, food, fresh produce, baked goods and artisan crafts. Free parking is available. Friendly pets on a leash are welcome.

AAUW Naperville Area Used Book Sale Donation Drive

The public is invited to donate hardcover and paperback books in good condition. Also CDs DVDs and vinyl/LPs will be accepted; however, encyclopedias, Readers Digest condensed books, VHS and cassette tapes will not. Unloading assistance and tax receipts provided. All proceeds support scholarships, fellowships and programs for women and girls. More information is at naperville-il.aauw.net.

4th Annual Glen Ellyn Vintage Auto Show

10 a.m.

Historic Stacy’s Corners, 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society welcomes vintage automobiles and their owners to the show.

Talks on automobile history will be given in the History Center. Mini-tours of Stacy’s Tavern Museum will be available. Historical Society members will hold their annual bake sale. The annual sidewalk sale will be held at Stacy’s Corners Store and the Historical Society gift shop will be open. Alma Dance School Presents Simply Classic Series

McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn

$28 for adults, $20 for children

The company will perform movements from famous ballets, including “Swan Lake.” Professional dancers from the Kansas City Ballet, Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theater and the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago will join the cast of students and teachers.

The 16th annual Fine Arts Festival provides an opportunity for area artists to exhibit and sell art for the home and garden, including paintings, ceramics, hand-woven textiles, mosaics, pastels, stained glass, jewelry and photography.

Get gussied up, bring your sidekick and get a wiggle to this shindig on the lawn filled with activities, horseless carriages, games, a silent auction and music. Classic Italian Dinner with Chef Cherise

Chef Cherise will demonstrate how to make pasta from scratch and to prepare a delicious Italian meal. Chef’s program includes homemade linguine, spicy marinara sauce, chopped salad with red wine vinaigrette and Italian biscotti cookies. Tasty bites and recipes will be shared.
