Londale Madison has been charged with Attempt First Degree Murder, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Home Invasion and Armed Robbery.

$5 million bond has been set for an Indiana man accused of breaking into a Willowbrook home and sexually assaulting and stabbing a twenty-six year-old occupant. Late last night DuPage County prosecutors filed charges against Londale Madison, 31, of the 1000 block of Calvert Street, South Bend, in relation to the attack. Madison has been charged with one count of Attempt First Degree Murder, one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, one count of Home Invasion and one count of Armed Robbery. All charges are Class X Felonies.

In the early afternoon hours of August 29, the Willowbrook Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a Home Invasion on 73rd Court. Upon their arrival, officers found the victim at a neighbor’s home. She had been beaten and stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery.

It is alleged that on August 29, 2015, at some point in time prior to the 911 call, Madison broke into the woman’s home where he sexually assaulted, beat and stabbed the woman multiple times. It is further alleged that following the attack, Madison fled the state and returned to Indiana.

An investigation led by the Willowbrook Police Department and the DuPage County Felony Investigation Assistance Team (FIAT) led to Madison who was apprehended in Indiana on September 1, 2015 without incident.

“This type of brazen, violent, unprovoked physical and sexual attack, as alleged in this case, is extremely disturbing and will be met with the full force of the law,” said DuPage State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. “The apprehension of Mr. Madison is a perfect example of law enforcement agencies working together in the pursuit of justice. I would like to thank the Willowbrook Police Department, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Felony Investigation Assistance Team, the Indiana State Police, the St. Joseph County Metropolitan Homicide Division, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshall’s Great Lakes Regional Task Force for their outstanding work and cooperation on this case.”

“I am extremely grateful to all agencies involved for their tireless perseverance in the apprehension and charges brought against Mr. Madison,” said Willowbrook Police Chief Shelton. “We are all so very thankful our victim will be recovering. The bravery exhibited and information provided by our victim were exceptional. Knowing Mr. Madison is in law enforcement custody is a relief to all citizens.”

Madison is currently being held in the St. Joseph County Jail awaiting extradition to DuPage County. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of up to 120 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
