 Authorities seek information on cold case murders

Last week,  the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office announced they had resolved the 44-year-old cold case regarding the murder of Pamela Maurer. The identified murderer was Bruce Lindahl. Lindahl, died in 1981 while committing another murder and is thought to have had many more victims in the years prior to his death.
Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the 1980 murder of Debra Colliander, who accused Lindahl of rape and then disappeared, after leaving work at Copley Hospital, shortly before Lindahl was to be tried for that crime. Colliander’s body was found two years later in a farm field in Oswego Township.
Lindahl was believed to be active in the areas of Lisle, Downers Grove, Woodridge, and Aurora. If you have any information regarding Lindahl or any other crimes for which he may be responsible, contact law enforcement at the below tip lines:

MONTGOMERY

Come discover Montgomery’s “Then and Now” display

The new Then and Now display at the Montgomery Village Hall allows residents to see what life was like in the village 100 years ago.

Come experience how the passage of time has changed the local landscape in Montgomery.  The display features historic photos of buildings and landscapes contrasted with modern day photos taken from the same viewpoint by local photographer Linda Barnes.
This photo display is currently available for viewing in the lower lobby of the Montgomery Village Hall at 200 N. River St. and will be moved into the historic Settlers Cottage later this spring.

 Scouts can take tours of Village Hall

Is your scout group looking for an educational field trip and want to learn how local government works? Consider taking a tour of Village Hall in Montgomery.

A village staff member will take groups on an educational tour where scouts will learn about how local government works.
The village has several opportunities available for scout groups to fulfill requirements to earn badges (not provided by the village). Staff can tailor the experience to meet requirements for several different badges.

Some typical activities to satisfy requirements for Citizenship in the Community for Boy Scouts, or earn activity badges for Cub Scouts or Girl Scouts are:
Meet with the village staff to learn about local government and tour the village Hall;
engage in a mock Board Meeting to discuss a current issue and learn how decisions are made;
present the colors and lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a Village Board Meeting;
visit Settlers Cottage to enjoy a short tour and discussion of Montgomery’s history, then complete a quiz based on displays in the museum.
Want to learn more or schedule a tour? Visit MontgomeryIL.org and fill-out the online request form.
