Tagging and Tracking the Monarch’s Great Migration

Adults and families with children ages 6 and up can attend this McHenry County Conservation District special event to learn about monarch butterflies as they begin their mass migrations south. The program includes a brief overview of monarchs and their migration patterns, followed by a hike on prairie trails to search for monarchs and their larvae. If available, a live monarch butterfly will be tagged, and instructions on how to tag butterflies at home will be provided.
