Exercise your brain June 10 

Ready to give your brain a workout? University of Illinois Extension Educator Sara Attig will be leading participants through interactive activities designed to exercise the brain to maintain and enhance cognitive function and memory. The free program will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at the Eureka Public Library, 202 S. Main St. No registration required. Crafting program for middle schoolers 

Kids in grades 5-8 are invited to sign up for a MS Cardboard Creation Challenge & Pizza Party program at Eureka Public Library from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13. Participants can work as a team or individually to create a cardboard project using craft knives and hot glue guns. Registration is required. Sign up in the children’s library. Call the library at 309-467-2922, Ext. 2 for information. 

Family Puzzle Challenge set for June 13 

Eureka Public Library will have its first Family Puzzle Challenge at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13. Teams of four participants will attempt to finish a 500-piece puzzle the fastest. All teams must have at least one member under the age of 18. Registration is open. Teams must register at the library’s adult circulation desk. Each registered team will receive the same 500-piece puzzle and will have up to two hours to complete as much of the puzzle as possible. The first-place team will win a prize!

HS Art programs for June 

Join Eureka Public Library for free high school art classes at Art at the Bodega, 2407 Washington Road in Washington. Spots are limited and registration is required! June’s HS Art programs are: Pottery Throwing on Thursday, June 13 at 5:30 p.m. and Fused Glass on Thursday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m. Both are for students in grades 9-12. Makerspace Pop-Up for teens and adults 

Eureka Public Library invites community teens and adults to stop by the library and get creative with watercolor paints, pastels, acrylic paints, beads, and more in the library’s program room. Makerspace Pop-Up will run Friday, June 14 and Monday, June 17 and Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21. This is a free program for patrons ages 13 and up. Share Your Story luncheon to be held June 21 

Eureka Public Library’s Share Your Story adult storytelling group will be hosting a luncheon in the Maple Lawn Community Room from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, June 21. Join us for a fun time sharing stories, meeting friends, and having lunch together. Registration is required. Please contact Angela Roberts 309-467-2922, Ext. 4 if you have any questions. 

Tie-Dye Friday is back 

Tie-Dye Friday is back at Eureka Public Library. The library will provide all of the tie-dye supplies, patrons just need to bring their own white cotton t-shirt or other item to tie-dye. This program is free and open to patrons of all ages. Tie-dye can get a little messy, so wearing old clothes is recommended! No need to register, simply stop by the library anytime from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 14.  Teen Book & Manga Club 

Eureka Public Library invites students in grades 9-12 to join us for Teen Book & Manga Club at 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, to talk about books (including manga!), have smoothies, make bracelets, and have fun! For more information, call the library at 309-467-2922, Ext. 2. 

 U of I Master Gardeners to host plant clinic  

University of Illinois Extension Woodford County Master Gardeners will be hosting a free plant clinic at the Eureka Public Library from 4:30-6 p.m. Monday, June 17. Anyone can bring gardening questions, landscape problems, and unidentified plant and insect samples and get free information and advice from the experts. Plant Clinics will be held in the library’s outdoor pavilion weather permitting. No registration required.
